Managing Director of SDS Supportive Housing Fund

David Grunwald is Senior Vice President, Real Estate Private Equity at SDS Capital Group. Mr. Grunwald is responsible for the day-to-day management of the SDS Supportive Housing Fund (SHF), a $150 million fund that provides construction financing for Section 8 housing for California’s homeless population. Mr. Grunwald is responsible for underwriting and asset management activities at both project and fund levels for SHF projects and developments. He brings over 30 years of multilevel experience working with homeless populations in various capacities including the development of affordable housing, as an advocate for those experiencing homelessness as well as an attorney providing legal services. Prior to joining SDS, Grunwald served as Senior Vice President, Los Angeles Region for National Community Renaissance CORE where he led the organization’s Los Angeles Affordable Housing Development. Previous experience includes serving as President and CEO of Affordable Living for the Aging, American Sunrise Communities and LA Family Housing. He was the Founding Director of HIV&AIDS Legal Services Alliance and Associate Program Director at Weingart Center Association. Mr. Grunwald has a Bachelor of Arts, Economics degree from University of Denver, Colorado; a Master of Public Policy from Duke University, Terry Sanford School of Public Policy and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.
